[No longer open, scarred over but still very red. Odds are the breathing is due to the scarring making everything tight and tugging]
I'll heal on my own eventually with some rest- but... I might have to fight again soon, so anything that would help with the pain would be a big help.
...I also wanted to talk with you about something else more personal.

I think you will; it looks like it's healing up fine. How much of a tolerance do you have for strong medication, and do you have a preference for above-bar or under the table means of getting it?
[Look, in his line of work... Not even wants to leave a paper trail, it's alright.]
We'll get this taken care of, then we can talk about the other part.

Above board it is. Just a second, let me get my pen...
[He sits at the desk and takes perhaps too much glee in the spinny chair before pulling out a pad and starting to scribble a prescription. Let's just handwave the 'Do you have a particular pharmacy you want this sent to' talk because look I've been to one doc's office in the last six years and it was planned parenthood, ok.]

[Look he doesn't care where you get your goods, just don't yell at him for malpractice and make him have to move. He's got a network here, kid.
One more enjoyable chair-spin, and - ]
So, the other matter?

lucky you I do in fact have an Ardyn account I can whip out for this

[... It sure fucking is, and gets a legitimate blink of surprise.]
... Well. That's not a request I hear often from those who haven't been to fairyland.
... Well. That's not a request I hear often from those who haven't been to fairyland.
Is it? Well, I'm pretty sure I'm the only one like me around here, so that might be why. But... him coming into power has had... ripples, I guess? Things had changed, and I was hoping to make contact with him and... well, maybe we can help each other.
[He seems almost disarmingly earnest, and maybe even a little excited]
[He seems almost disarmingly earnest, and maybe even a little excited]
Is that so?
[Curiosity, mostly, appraising the boy up and down.]
...You understand, our relationship isn't typical, for his kind and mine.
[He's assuming you know that he has some connection to the Autumn Court, so please don't let it be the case that you just went and asked the first changeling-looking critter you came across.]
I take his safety very seriously.

I don't know all the details... I've seen versions of him in human dreams, so I had to do a lot of snooping around to even find you, and I can tell you're not the same- So I kinda took a shot in the dark.
I swear it, I don't mean you or him any harm. I'm willing to take oaths if needed.
[He DOES know Changelings take those very Seriously]

[Dreams, hmm? Well that's very interesting and filed away.]
You're quite lucky in that regard, then - if our relationship was anything but what it is, well... To most of those of my kind who even know what they are, mentioning their other half is something of a threat.
[Changelings and Fetches don't typically get along. But Izunia dismisses that with a small wave of his hand and a smile as wide as anything. ... Really, if you wanted to find a Playful Anime Trickster Mentor somewhere, this guy would probably do.]
I don't think any oaths will be required. They're often designed with loopholes anyway.

Most changelings seek to destroy that which replaced them, even if circumstances are such that they can't take their old lives back. Our family - [And there's a slight emphasis on the word, easy enough to miss if you aren't looking for it.] - regards things rather differently.
[Izunia runs a hand through his hair.]
It's... extremely unusual for someone as high profile as Ardyn to still have a Fetch around, much less for me to be a reasonably high-profile member of the community myself. Word of mouth travels, and I've had no small few think they were doing my other half a favor by trying to get rid of me.
They usually get more than they bargain for.

[so which one of us is losing our memories, hmmm]
[Akira listens to this carefully... and in the mirror one can almost see the swishswish of a tail that isn't there- ghostly movements of something curious and laser focused]
I see... I think I understand. Sure as hell don't agree- why would you fight a part of yourself- but I GET it.
I see... I think I understand. Sure as hell don't agree- why would you fight a part of yourself- but I GET it.
Again, the way we regard each other is rather different. To most changelings, a Fetch is... a fake thing made to look like them, not a person. I'm pretty sure even most of the ones who come into this office don't entirely consider me a person, but I patch them up just the same.
[I mean it's canon that fetches can mess with their changelings in dreams and vice versa so... yes? I Guess?]
I appreciate it, and I'm sure that Ardyn will too. He's... a bit reckless with his safety sometimes, honestly.
[A thing which has a perfectly rational explanation but we are not getting into the details of Durance with a kid we just met.]
If you give me a moment, I can go give him a call right now - I think he's just being a vagrant again tonight, nothing of importance.
[Pretending to be a 'harmless' homeless man is the Autumn King's hobby, apparently.]

[He hadn't voted after all.
Izunia Lucis Caelum had gone into the courtroom with the fire of vengeance in his heart, Lyse, Lyse -
But all of that fire is gone now. He can't burn his children. Lucis does tombs, not funeral pyres.
He hadn't even been able to vote. And now he's here, seated up on top of the closed piano in the music room. There's a bottle in his hand, but he hasn't even opened it yet.
Lyse had taught him her nation's anthem, here, weeks ago when he remembered Insomnia falling apart around him.
He'd told Mukuro, here, of his decision. His choice.
He'd thought she understood. But in the end, he hadn't been able to reach her, not in the depths of the black where her other half chained her down in merely mortal ways.
Champion Despair.]
...Beneath yon burning star there lies
A haven for the bold...

We blessed few, born from blood,
With tired hands do toil...
[He lets her take the bottle. It's Cheez-Um vodka. Somehow the atrocious ones became a tradition for this.]
...If we add any more weight, we'll break the piano, you know.

It's wood and I don't want to pick splinters out of my backside, do you?
[Atrocious, terrible creature. Family. His family.]
I don't think today could get much worse anyway.
