Well, here's some headache-inducing news: Ultimately, they're all the same person.

And now, the wave form has collapsed, and they actually are the same person. All of those memories, plus any new abilities and scars, smashing down into a single soul, a single incarnation.

On the bright side, at least whatever universe this is, you're not alone in it. On the less bright side, good luck navigating your relationships now.

Any CRAU character can respond to this meme, though of course, it's more interesting for characters who have been to at least two games. Meet your old friends, your new friends... Your friends' friends? Whatever. Consider noting down not only what games your characters have been to, but if you're open to three-people threads, for extra juggling-of-memories fun!

I was patient even prior to the two thousand years old part. Someone had to keep things in some form of order.

There's a reason Ardyn never had a formal royal advisor in the sense that most of the others did. Scheduling, politicking, crossing the Ts and dotting the Is - all of that was mine.

And trying to get him to sit down to sign even a slip of paper, when he'd rather be out healing or training or riding a chocobo or tinkering with some old fool contraption? The utmost exercise in patience.

Well he wasn't fucking king, so I guess he didn't have to sign anything.

Father was... a hero of the Astral War, and like many such heroes, never entirely returned from it. Our mother and grandmother did much of the work of raising us, until the latter fell ill and died when Ardyn and I were... mmm, seventeen, eighteen, somewhere in there. At that point we were mostly old enough to take care of ourselves, so our parents retired to a goat hut.

In the mountains, where people were unlikely to disturb my father with any loud noises and get swords thrown through them for the trouble.

More a hut surrounded by goats but honestly the latter wouldn't surprise me.

Your mom didn't wanna be a queen or anything? She wanted to live in a barn?!

Rather, she wanted to be wherever Father was, and Father mostly wanted to be away from crowds. Why is this so surprising?

Because who lives in a barn! And if there wasn't a king or a queen, then how come neither of you were king until he went all fuckfaced and you took over?! Your politics make no god damn sense, where's the leadership!
