How many friends, lovers, families have they found?

Well, here's some headache-inducing news: Ultimately, they're all the same person.

And now, the wave form has collapsed, and they actually are the same person. All of those memories, plus any new abilities and scars, smashing down into a single soul, a single incarnation.

On the bright side, at least whatever universe this is, you're not alone in it. On the less bright side, good luck navigating your relationships now.

Any CRAU character can respond to this meme, though of course, it's more interesting for characters who have been to at least two games. Meet your old friends, your new friends... Your friends' friends? Whatever. Consider noting down not only what games your characters have been to, but if you're open to three-people threads, for extra juggling-of-memories fun!

[Oh, thank Shiva, she picked one where he's from Eos, where his story's easy to follow. He blinks, shivering at the reduction of pain and confusion, and then looks up with his blue-glowing eyes, less dark and roiling but still somehow not quite substantial.

He's all right. That feels right, that it's a statement. Statements are even better than commands, they're just facts. Like photos. Photographic evidence can be doctored or misinterpreted, but it's not usually wrong.

Prompto waits a moment for her name to slide into his forebrain, but it doesn't come. It's not like she's someone he's met and forgotten, but rather... she's familiar the way warmth is familiar, something that doesn't always have a name.

Um, thanks. [He tries pushing himself up and finds that it's a thing he can do without too much struggle, so he sits up.] Hi. Hello. ...I don't... know you, do I?

[Ardyn held out his hand, a little unsteadily. Right...somewhere, at some point, this girl he cared about was-]

[Izunia lets the dagger go to run his hand through his hair - the fact that it's Ardyn's own adopted gesture does not, for once, even cross his mind.]

Hells, at least mine hasn't... done anything like that, in any of the ones I remember.

[And then a thought, brief and terrifying, strikes him - ]

Are you still...?

[The glimpse of panic in his face should finish that question nicely.]

[He's cold, cold. So cold. He thinks he might be shivering, but it's hard to tell, like this.]

[ since ryslig got in here, he's a demon - that's kind of a big change. wings, horns, hunger for human souls, the whole bit. but i guess when your sudden mix of memories is two horror games and the truest horror of all: failing your 1L year, you're probably a little more equipped for that.

[His voice sounds more present, at least. Goro. That's something to latch onto, too, so he tries--yes. Goro Akechi, the bees, the ones too small to really hurt anybody.

He looks down at his arms to find they look that much more familiar, and he sighs a sigh of relief.]

It's safe to look. I'm still kind of ghosty, but, like. Not a creepy midnight haunting kind of ghost anymore.

[Good enough. Izunia opens his eyes and looks up, and immediately sighs with relief. Yeah, sorry, Prompto, he wasn't really. Prepared for that.]

[ The laugh he gets in return is sickly and weak and Yuuri doesn't immediately respond. She hangs her head again for a moment. It's easier when she's not trying to focus on anything other than the clashing reactions in her head. It's like having double vision and she has to close her eyes for a second before she can work out what to do.

Yuuri doesn't really want anything to do with him, nor can she bring herself to accept any comfort. But Clarita, practically bubbling over with earnest sincerity and affection, won't allow her to just be rude.

So finally, she reaches out and takes his hand. Only loosely, like she doesn't really want to be holding it at all but it helps to have something real and solid to center her attention on. ]

... There's so much of it. I can barely even think. Is... is this what it's like all the time for you and...?

[Whelp, Kokichi is wearing a different uniform than usual. He's also going to pretend that he's from a world where he escaped to Los Angeles, Japanifornia because that seems a lot better than remembering that canon update which happened in Wonderland.

[ And there's enough histories in her head where this is a recurrence that Yuuri doesn't hesitate to take his hand and squeeze it tight. ]

[ She makes herself stop, because there's no point in would have or could haves. Taking a shaky breath, she makes to take a step closer but then hesitates. ]

I'm not sure I ever got an answer. I got... summoned? But not like heroic spirits got summoned. And something went weird, and everyone started... changing. B-but we were still people, I swear! I was the only one who looked like I did.

[He squeezes her hand once, gently, but doesn't push her any further. Just something, someone, solid to hold onto.

It helps. He knows how much it helps.]

Mine not so much as his, I think. There's less in there, even if not all of mine is my own. Though... Not as much now, but I suppose I have more practice in tuning it out.

[Thinking about it makes his hand itch for a pen, to try and draw out - something, some of these impressions.]

The sole thing this headache is making her realize is that she seems to be a magnet for this kind of shit. Prayer's Pass was bad enough, and going to the afterlife and almost squarely fucking herself up? That was bad too? Even the fucking virtual reality, where she just...well, she ended up pretty happy there, but she's gotta wonder for how long, now. And those other memories...god, this is just a mess.

Don't mind the girl just kind of looking around everywhere she can while rubbing at her head, probably muttering something about 'the rules'.]

[ Because even as she's saying I'm Yuuri there's still Clarita in the back of her head, railing against the mistrust the rest of her feels for this man. She needs one that's neither but she doesn't know how to choose. ]

[Maya's head tilts in tandem with the crease of concern in her brow. She didn't mean to upset him, but--]

[She could elaborate on that little half-riddling turn of phrase, but she doesn't. She just keeps her hand on his forehead a little longer, until she's certain that he's anchored in the one timeline she's sifted out enough that the others are more just whispers and echoes than warring competing memories, and then she draws her hand back and folds her arms over her knees.]

I haven't always been very nice to you. And I think you knew that, too. I can't say I'm sorry, exactly — but it wasn't personal, at least. It just is what it is.

[She watches him carefully, through green eyes that shift and glimmer with flashes of gold — through irises whose colors somehow don't seem to hold still, always shifting minutely like tricks of the light.]

I'll tell you who I am, if you do something for me in return.

It's not your being human or not that concerns me, Prompto, calm down.

[Come on how many times now have you found him and Stone napping on each other by now. He doesn't have a problem with nonhumans unless they look like they're gonna start dripping Scourge on things.]

It's just the memory of the Scourge that gives me trouble.

At least he's dealing with this better than most. You see, people tend to forget Wonderland when they leave for good, and he's pretty sure he got sent to the Hale residence at a later point in his life. So it all checks out.

[He wasn't quite paying full attention, watching those eyes. They're so pretty, and the gold isn't dead like other golds he's seen, doesn't make him think of wolves or daemons but rather sunlight. Sunlight through high, thick leaves, like the Lucian forests outside Insomnia's walls.]

Oh, it's okay. I'm used to girls not being nice to me, so it's not a big deal. ...Uhhhh, that sounded a lot worse when I said it out loud.

[Maybe he does know her. He's always stupid around girls, but that--it's almost like he does know her, or knows she knows him--like she already knows how stupid he is, so he doesn't have to wind himself up so tightly to try not to be.]
