He's really interested in the map at street level; the zoom out makes his eyes pop, a little, because when your planet's human population is measured in millions (not that he remembers that), New York is a very large city.

And then Kit zooms out again, enough to see not just the city but the outline of the continent, and it's unfamiliar. The music around them warbles and outright dies for a moment - when it picks back up again, it's thready and empty, the entire sound wavering.

"I've never seen that coast before," he says quietly.
