Some of Kit's coworkers might bemoan how early night falls this time of year, but it has no objection to spending the vast majority of its daylight hours safely within the walls of the library. It's got relatively little concern about wandering after dark - maybe in some neighborhoods, but not around here, at least. This area is usually pretty quiet; not particularly affluent, but safe enough, especially in the blocks nearest the church.

That usual quiet makes the unholy cacophony coming from the alley behind the church all the more noticeable, and after a brief moment's hesitation, the darkling goes to investigate.

"Hey, everything cool back here?" it asks, peering around the corner with very wide, very dark eyes.
